Definition
Titanium, chlorination residues is a complex combination of substances arising from the neutralization of chloridized impurities which are separated from titanium tetrachloride by cooling and treating with paraffin oil. Separated by filtration, the neutralized residue consists primarily of unreacted titanium ore and coke, water, calcium chloride, and hydrous oxides of iron, silicon, zirconium, and aluminum.
