Usage
Industrial applications include dyeing leather, staining wood, coloring paper coatings and coloring photographs. Amaranth finds limited use as a biological stain. It can be used as a reagent for the detection of nitrites and nitrates.
First Aid Measures
Ingestion
Wash mouth out with water. Get medical aid if irritation or symptoms occur.
Inhalation
Remove from exposure to fresh air immediately. Get medical aid if cough or other symptoms appear.
Skin
Get medical aid if irritation develops or persists. Flush skin with plenty of soap and water.
Eyes
Get medical aid. Gently lift eyelids and flush continuously with water.
