Usage

Herbicide.

First Aid Measures

Ingestion

Seek medical attention. If individual is drowsy or unconscious, do not give anything by mouth; place individual on the left side with the head down. Contact a physician, medical facility, or poison control center for advice about whether to induce vomiting. If possible, do not leave individual unattended.

Inhalation

If symptoms develop, move individual away from exposure and into fresh air. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention. If breathing is difficult, administer oxygen. Keep person warm and quiet; seek immediate medical attention.

Skin

Remove contaminated clothing and wash exposed area thoroughly with soap and water. A physician should examine the area if irritation or pain persists.

Eyes

Irrigate exposed eyes with copious amounts of tepid water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation, pain, swelling, lacrimation, or photophobia persist, the patient should be seen in a health care facility.

Store in cool, dry place. Exposure of water-soluble formulations to air can cause some loss of water solubility.

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus in pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent), and full protective gear. During a fire, irritating and highly toxic gases may be generated by thermal decomposition or combustion. Use agent most appropriate to extinguish fire.

Active ingredient and dry formulations are non-flammable; the liquid formulation (hyvar-xl) is a combustible mixture which should be kept away from heat and open flame.

Stability and Reactivity

Stability

Stable up to MP and slowly sublimes @ temperature just below its MP active ingredient is chemically stable under normal storage conditions stable in aqueous bases. Slowly decomposed by concentrated acids.

Incompatibilities

Strong oxidizing agents.

Decomposition

When heated to decomposition it emits very toxic fumes of hydrogen bromide and nitrogen oxides.
