Hazards Identification

Inhalation

May cause respiratory tract irritation.

Skin

Causes skin irritation. May cause allergic contact dermatitis.

Eyes

Causes eye irritation. Contact with the eyes causes eyes to become swollen, watery, and exude a sticky viscous liquid which forms yellowish crusts. Causes visual disturbances including: blurred vision, disturbed color perception, photophobia, diplopia, night blindness, constricted visual fields, mydriasis, and possibly blindness.

Ingestion

May cause gastrointestinal irritation with nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. May cause kidney damage. May cause central nervous system depression, characterized by excitement, followed by headache, dizziness, drowsiness, and nausea. Advanced stages may cause collapse, unconsciousness, coma and possible death due to respiratory failure. Ingestion may produce visual and hearing disturbances. Human systemic effects by ingestion may include: visual field changes, tinnitus, and nausea or vomiting.
