Chemical Properties

Yellow crystals, soluble in methanol, ethanol, slightly soluble in petroleum ether, derived from the aerial part of Salvia plebeia R.Br.

Uses

Nepitrin can be used as an intermediate for chemical and pharmaceutical synthesis.It is mainly used for the preparation of medicines for the prevention and treatment of chloasma, pharmaceutical compositions for rheumatism, and pharmaceutical compositions for the treatment of oral ulcers.

Definition

Biological Activity

Nepitrin can be isolated from Scrophularia striata and it has significant anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritis activity.
