Description

Aminooxy-PEG8-acid is a bifunctional crosslinker containing an aminooxy group (ONH2) with a terminal carboxylic acid (CO2H). The terminal carboxylic acid can reactwith primary amine groups in the presence of activators (e.g. EDC, or HATU) to form a stable amide bond. The hydrophilic PEG spacer increases solubility in aqueous media. The aminooxy group can reacts with an aldehyde to form an oxime bond. If a reductant is used, it will form a hydroxylamine linkage. Aminooxy compounds are very reactive and sensitive; they cannot be stored for long term. Immediate use (within 1 week) is highly recommended.
