Chemical Properties

yellow flaky crystal, mp102～104℃, easily soluble in common organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone, benzene, etc., also soluble in water, a slight irritating effect on the skin.

Uses

Ethyl 5-amino-3-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylate is an intermediate of the herbicide pyrazosulfuron-methyl.

Synthesis

Ethyl 5-amino-3-methyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylate was prepared by ethyl cyanoacetate, triethyl orthoformate and acetic acid heated at 130-155℃ foe 6 hours in prestence of catalyst.
