Studies have shown that S-adenosyl-L-methionine disulfate tosylate salt (SAMe-ST) at concentrations of 0.2 to 5.0 mg/ml protects red blood cells from hypotonic hemolysis, and that this protection is attributed to the SAMe moiety itself, rather than its Sulfate or mesylate moiety. SAMe-ST significantly increased Na+.K(+)-ATPase activity^[1].

Side effects
