Cell permeable fluorescent probe for Ca2+; lower affinity than FURA?2; gives a large shift in fluorescent emission from 482?nm to 398?nm upon Ca2+ binding.

Cell-permeant derivative of Indo 1. Indo 1-AM is fluorescent probe for Ca2+. After crossing the membrane, the product is rapidly hydrolyzed by cytoplasmic esterases to the membrane impermeant INDO 1. Indo 1-AM is possible using for ratiometric fluorescenc
