Chemical Properties

Pale yellow powder, soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol, and DMSO, derived from the dried roots and rhizomes of Rheum palmatum, a plant of the Polygonaceae family.

Uses

Chrysophanol 8-O-glucoside, an anthraquinone derivative in Rhubarb, has shown through studies to exhibit anti-inflammatory and anti-platelet abilities.

Definition
