Description

C.I. Pigment Yellow-12, 21090 [6358-85-6] is a very important diarylide pigment and one of the most important organic pigments.

Uses

Pigment Yellow 12 is an organic azo dye used in a variety of materials, including food packaging plastics. Pigment Yellow 12 has been used to prepare organic dye nanoparticles by laser ablation.

Uses

Pigment yellow 13 (CAS# 5102-83-0) is a pigment used as a color stabilizer of wood flour/polypropylene composites.

General Description

Odorless fine yellow powder.

Air & Water Reactions

Azo dyes can be explosive when suspended in air at specific concentrations. Insoluble in water.

Reactivity Profile

Pigment Yellow 13 is incompatible with strong oxidizing agents.

Health Hazard

ACUTE/CHRONIC HAZARDS: When heated to decomposition Pigment Yellow 13 emits very toxic fumes of chlorine and nitrogen oxides.
