Description

4-Iodo-3-hydroxypyridine is an organic intermediate, commonly used in the synthesis of various pharmaceutical and chemical products. It is reported in the literature that 4-iodo-3-hydroxypyridine can be prepared from 2-chloro-4-iodopyridine in one step or from 3-hydroxypyridine in three steps.

Application

4-Iodo-3-hydroxypyridine is an organic intermediate and pharmaceutical intermediate, which is commonly used in the synthesis of various pharmaceutical and chemical products and in laboratory research and development processes.

Synthesis

4-Iodo-3-hydroxypyridine can be prepared by reacting 3-hydroxypyridine, potassium tert-butoxide, and methoxymethyl chloride in a nitrogen atmosphere.
