Uses

Potassium hexachlororhodate(III) is used as pharmaceutical intermediates. It is also used as chemical catalyst.

Application

Tripotassium hexachlororhodate is used to synthesize other rhodium metal products or rhodium electroplating solutions.

Synthesis

Tripotassium hexachlororhodate can be synthesized by heating rhodium and potassium chloride in a chlorine gas stream or by adding potassium chloride to a hot rhodium-containing chlorine ligand.
