Kinetin Riboside is used as an anticancer and antiviral agent.
Definition
ChEBI: (2R,3R,4S,5R)-2-[6-(2-furanylmethylamino)-9-purinyl]-5-(hydroxymethyl)oxolane-3,4-diol is a purine nucleoside.
Biological Activity
Kinetin riboside exhibits cytotoxic and antiproliferative activities. In addition, it also shows anticancer activity by inducing apoptosis in various types of cancers including myeloid leukemia cells, mouse melanoma B16F-10 cells, and plant tumor cells.
in vivo
Kinetin riboside significantly suppresses tumor growth. The most effective anti-melanoma response is elicited at 40 mg/kg[2].
