HEXYL-BETA-D-GLUCOPYRANOSIDE Usage And Synthesis
Chemical Properties
White Crystalline Solid
Uses
A mild nonionic detergent.
Synthesis
492-61-5
111-27-3
39824-11-8
In standard synthesis experiments, (2R,3R,4S,5S,6R)-6-(hydroxymethyl)tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2,3,4,5-tetraol and n-hexanol were used as starting materials for the preparation of the target compound (CAS:39824-11-8). This was done as follows: first, 18 mL of tertiary alcohol was mixed with 2 mL of aqueous solution containing 0.25 mol/L glucose as reaction medium. Subsequently, 60 mg of almond powder was added to the mixture as a catalyst. The reaction system was transferred to a 100 mL round-bottomed flask and the reaction was carried out in a constant temperature water bath at 50 °C with continuous oscillation at 180 r/min. During the reaction, 50 μL was sampled periodically and the reaction progress was monitored by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). For the synthesis of methyl-D-glucoside, 2 mL of methanol, 16 mL of acetonitrile mixed with 2 mL of aqueous solution containing 0.25 mol/L glucose was required as the reaction system.
