4'-Bromopropiophenone Usage And Synthesis
Description
4'-Bromopropiophenone is used as a raw material for organic synthesis or as a pharmaceutical intermediate reagent. The 4′-Bromopropiophenone can be employed as a starting material for synthesising novel 5-substituted pyrazole derivatives via Suzuki-type coupling with alkenes. These derivatives function as potent CB1 antagonists exhibiting binding affinities comparable to SR 141716A, presenting potential as therapeutic agents for obesity.
Chemical Properties
white to light yellow crystalline powder
Uses
4'-Bromopropiophenone is an electron-deficient aryl bromide that has the ability to self-polymerize using binary palladium catalyst. 4'-Bromopropiophenone is also used as a reagent in the synthesis of substituted 2-aminothiazoles (e.g. 2-Aminobenzothiazole [A593500]), compounds that are inhibitors of neuronal degeneration in patients with Alzheimer’s disease.
