bruceine E Usage And Synthesis

Chemical Properties

White crystalline powder, soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol, DMSO, etc., derived from the fruit of Brucea javanica.

Uses

Bruceine E is a quassinoid from seeds of Brucea javanica (L.) Merr, exhibiting hypoglycemia effect[1]. Bruceine E exhibits blood glucose lowering effect in both nondiabetic mice and Streptozotocin (STZ (HY-13753))-induced diabetic rats at lower dose[2].

in vivo

Bruceine D and E, isolated from B. javanica seeds, exhibits blood glucose lowering effect in both nondiabetic mice and STZ-induced diabetic rats at lower dose (1 mg/kg b.w.) during 0-8 h screening[2].
