Uses
Salviolone is a natural diterpenoid derivative that can against melanoma cells. Salviolone exhibits a pleiotropic effect against melanoma by hampering cell cycle progression, STAT3 signaling, and malignant phenotype of A375 melanoma cells[1].
Synthesis
9H-Cyclohepta[a]naphthalen-9-one,1,2,3,4- tetrahydro-10-hydroxy-4,4,8-trimethyl- is prepared as follows: 10kg of crude powder of Salvia miltiorrhiza root was extracted with 95% ethanol by ultrasonication for 3 times, the extract was combined, and the extract was recovered to be free of alcoholic flavor, and the extract was pinched and dissolved with appropriate amount of water, and extracted with ethyl acetate, and the extract was obtained as 87g.The extract was separated by repeated silica gel column chromatography, and the compounds ?? to ?? were obtained by recrystallization. Compound III is Salvia miltiorrhiza phenolone,
