TSP Usage And Synthesis
Description
A dry, granular, freeflowing product, gray in color. Produced by addition of phosphoric acid to phosphate rock, thus avoiding formation of insoluble gypsum, as in superphosphate, and achieving three times the amount of available phosphate (as P2O5). Typical analysis: moisture 2%, available P2O5 50%, water solution P2O5 45%, free phosphoric acid 1%, also minor ingredients. Used as a fertilizer.
Definition
Substance obtained by acidulating phosphate rock with phosphoric acid. Normally characterized as containing 40% or more available phosphoric oxide (P2O5). Composed primarily of calcium phosphate.
Flammability and Explosibility
Non flammable
