Uses

Cadmium tungstate (CdWO4) is used in fluorescent paint, X-ray screens, and scintillation counters and as a catalyst. It is very toxic when inhaled.

• Preparation of CdWO4 polymorphs to study electronic structures and photocatalytic activities
• Scintillating bolometers for double beta decay search
• Studies of laser photochemical ablation
