Chemical Properties

Hard, brown, resinous mass. It is a pale buff in color when precipitated in the cold, but darkens immediately in solution.commercial solution contains 6% manganese. Soluble in mineral spirits. Hardens on exposure to air. Combustible.

Uses

Paint and varnish drier.

Hazard

Solution is flammable.

Synthesis

Manganese naphthenate can be obtained by the interaction of manganese salt with sodium naphthenate solution.
