Chemical Properties

Purple-red powder. Soluble in o-chlorophenol, slightly soluble in chloroform, pyridine, toluene, insoluble in acetone, ethanol. Reddish orange in concentrated sulfuric acid, brown (with green fluorescence) in alkaline insurance powder solution, orange in acidic liquid.

Uses

Vat Red 15 is a red dye.
