Lactobacillus acidophilus is a probiotic bacteria. It first isolated by Moro (1900) from infant feces, The acidophilus (meaning acid-loving) bacterium is isolated from the intestinal tract of humans and animals and also is reported in the feces of milk-fed infants and older persons consuming high milk, lactose, or dextrin diets.
