Definition
Naphthenic oils (petroleum), catalytic dewaxed light is a complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained from a catalytic dewaxing process. It consists of hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C15 through C30 and produces a finished oil with a viscosity less than 100 SUS at 100.degree.F (19cSt at 40.degree.C). It contains relatively few normal paraffins.
Safety Profile
Confirmed carcinogen. When heated to decomposition it emits acrid smoke and irritating fumes.
