FRIEDELAN-3BETA-OL Usage And Synthesis
Chemical Properties
White crystalline powder, soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol, and DMSO. Derived from Aster tataricus LF.
Uses
Epifriedelanol is a triterpenoid compound with antiproliferative and anti-cancer agent.
Definition
ChEBI: Epi-Friedelanol is a triterpenoid.
Synthesis
The whole plant is dried, crushed, sieved through 20 mesh, weighed 500g in the reactor, add 80% ethanol 7000ml, water bath heating 60 ??, stirring extraction (reflux extraction, or impregnation extraction, or percolation extraction) for 60min, filtration, collection of extract, residue under the same conditions and then extracted again, the two extracts are combined, concentrated under reduced pressure to remove ethanol. Sequentially with 3 times the volume of petroleum ether and ethyl acetate extraction twice, combined with ethyl acetate extraction part, concentrated paste; paste using large pore adsorbent resin column separation, the first sequentially with water and 20% ethanol elution, in addition to the removal of impurities, and then eluted with 40% -60% ethanol solution, the collection of ethanol eluates, and concentrated under reduced pressure, freeze-drying, and to get the marjoram extract T. Determination of the content of extract: oleanolic acid as the standard, and the extract of the extract was extracted from the extract, and then concentrated under reduced pressure, freeze-dried, and obtained. Oleanolic acid was used as the standard, and vanillin-glacial acetic acid-perchloric acid color development method was used for the determination, and the content of triterpenoids in the product should not be less than 50%. The total triterpenoid content of Malan triterpenoid extract T was determined to be 52.5%, which mainly contained cork ketone, epimedanol, glutenol, leguminol, povidone, spinach steroid ketone, etc. The triterpenoid content of Malan triterpenoid extract T was determined to be 52.5%.
in vivo
Epifriedelanol (5-10 mg/kg; p.o.; 21 d) can against Bisphenol A (BPA) (HY-18260)-induced gonadotoxicity and has anti-inflammatory effects[3].
| Animal Model: | Male Sprague-Dawley rats, (180-200 g, age of 9-10 weeks)[3] |
| Dosage: | 5, 10 mg/kg |
| Administration: | Oral gavage (p.o.); 21 days |
| Result: | Showed a substantial decrease in prostate weight treated with Bisphenol A (BPA) (HY-18260), which could increase prostate size. Did not exhibit any detectable alterations in hematologic parameters when compared to the control group, supporting its biosafety and application in in vivo systems. Was preemptive against BPA-induced toxicity at both its high (10 mg/kg) and low (5 mg/kg) doses. Effectively retained physiological serum estradiol concentrations in a dose-dependent manner. Reduced peroxidation, and suppression of inflammatory markers (NO, IL-6 and TNF-α), indicating substantial antiinflammatory potential. |
