Biological stain; colorant for inks, cellulosics, foods, cosmetics, medicine (diagnostic aid).

Preparation

will Resorcinol and 4,5,6,7-Tetrachloroisobenzofuran-1,3-dione condensation, The resulting 4,5,6,7 – tetrachloro-fluorescein tetraiodide.

Properties and Applications

blue light red. Soluble in water for blue light yellow, no fluorescence, in concentrated sulfuric acid for brown, dilution after hot pink precipitation. Used in cosmetics coloring.
