Description

Plant sterols are cell membrane lipids that are found as free sterols, sterol esters, sterol glycosides, and acylsterol glycosides. They are precursors of the brassinosteroid family of plant growth regulators and have roles in transmembrane signal transduction and cell proliferation and differentiation. Plant Sterol Mixture contains brassicasterol, 24α-methyl cholesterol, stigmasterol, and 24α-ethyl cholesterol and is intended for use as a reference standard for the detection of these plant sterols in various sample types by GC- or LC-MS.
