Uses
Cyclopropanecarbonitrile is a cyano substituted cycloalkane. Cyclopropanecarbonitrile is an Impurity of pazufloxacin mesylate (P211000).
Uses
Cyclopropanecarbonitrile is used to prepare cis and trans crotonitrile and allyl cyanide. Further, it reacts with phenylmagnesium bromide to give cyclopropyl-phenyl ketone-imine.
Application
Cyclopropane formonitrile is a nitrile compound with cyclopropane structural units, which has important applications in organic synthesis, especially in the fields of medicine and pesticides. It can be used to prepare cis- and trans-crotonium nitrile, as well as allyl cyanide. It can also react with Grignard reagents such as magnesium phenyl bromide.
Synthesis
There are many methods for synthesizing cyclopropaneformitrile. A common industrial synthetic route uses 4-chlorobutyronitrile as a starting material and carries out an intramolecular cyclization reaction under alkaline conditions (such as sodium hydroxide (NaOH)) to generate a cyclopropane ring.
