Uses

Jolkinolide B, a bioactive diterpene isolated from the roots of Euphorbia fischeriana Steud, is known to induce apoptosis in cancer cells[1].

Biological Activity

Jolkinolide B is a diterpenoid isolated from the dried root of Euphorbia fischeriana steud th at exhibits anticancer, anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory activities. Jolkinolide B induces apoptosis in numerous human cancer cell lines including breast cancer MDA-MB-231, MCF7, chronic myeloid leukemia K562, leukemic U937 and LNCaP cells. Apparently, it induces apoptosis in mouse melanoma B16F10 cells through downregulation of mRNA expression.
