Uses

Active enantiomer of AMPA that induces apoptosis in cortical neurons

Uses

(S)-AMPA has also been used to activate rostromedial tegmental nucleus (RMTg), to study aversive conditioning in relation with cocaine-induced avoidance behaviors in mice.

Uses

(S)-AMPA is an analogue for AMPA (A611500) a specific agonist for the AMPA receptor which mimics the glutamate receptor.

General Description

AMPA (α-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid) activates excitatory postsynaptic currents (EPSC).

Biological Activity

Active enantiomer of AMPA (EC 50 = 3.5 μ M). Also available as part of the AMPA Receptor Tocriset™ .
