Uses

8-Bromoadenosine 3′,5′-cyclic monophosphate has been used:

  • to treat H295R cells as positive controls for CYP19 induction
  • as a membrane permeable cAMP analog to study its effect on short-circuit current (Isc)
  • to investigate its potential as an inducer of differentiation in Wharton′s jelly-derived mesenchymal stem cells (WJ-MSCs)

Definition

ChEBI: A 3',5'-cyclic purine nucleotide that is 3',5'-cyclic AMP bearing an additional bromo substituent at position 8 on the adenine ring. An activator of cyclic AMP-dependent protein kinase.

Biochem/physiol Actions

8-bromo-adenosine?3′,5′-cyclic?monophosphate?(8-bromo-cAMP), added to hepatocytes during plating helps to increase the acquisition of beta-adrenoceptors.

8-Bromo-cAMP (60 mg/kg/day, i.p., 7 days) reduces tumor in CT26 tumor mice[4].

Animal Model:CT26 tumor mice[4]
Dosage:60 mg/kg/day
Administration:i.p., 7 days
Result:Decreases amounts of primary CRC tumor nodules and liver metastases.
Reduces vasculogenic mimicry (PAS–CD31 staining of colorectal and intestinal tumors).
Inhibits cAMP and VEGF expression, increases expression of PKA in tumor tissues.
