Uses
Sodium Metatungstate Hydrate is a derivative of Sodium Tungstate (S673800), a potential therapy for obesity. Sodium tungstate dihydrate is also an inhibitor of acid phosphatases.
Biological Activity
Inhibitor of Ecto-NTPDases that displays minor selectivity for NTPDases 1 and 2 over NTPDase 3 and P2Y 12 (K i values are 2.58, 3.26, > 10 and 28.8 μ M for NTPDase 1, NTPDase 3, P2Y 12 and NTPDase 2 respectively). Abolishes renal protection induced by ischemic preconditioning.
in vivo
Sodium metatungstate (5 mg/kg, Intraperitoneal injection, single dose) shows different cytokine/chemokine responses in the peritoneum and systemically in the bloodstream in CD39 knockout mice[3].
Sodium metatungstate (5 mg/kg, Intraperitoneal injection, once per day from 0 to day 4, day 7-11, and day 14-18.) combine with anti-CD73 antibody and AZD4635(HY-101980) reduces tumor load in multiple myeloma (MM) mice[4].
