CAULOPHYLLOGENIN Usage And Synthesis

Chemical Properties

Caulophyllogenin is an important commercial chemical that is widely used in the manufacture of rubber hardeners, electroplating additives, skin antiseptic bactericides, hair dyes, photographic developers, etc. Pesticide intermediates of propoxur and carbocarb.

Uses

Caulophyllogenin is a triterpene saponin extracted from M. polimorpha. Caulophyllogenin is a partial PPARγ agonist, with an EC50?of?12.6?μM. Caulophyllogenin can be used for the research of type-2 diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome and inflammation[1][2].

Definition

ChEBI: Caulophyllogenin is a triterpenoid.

Biological Activity

Caulophyllogenin is a triterpenoid saponin extracted from M. polimorpha. It is a partial agonist of PPARγ with an EC50 value of 12.6 μM. Caulophyllogenin can be used to study type 2 diabetes, obesity, metabolic syndrome and inflammation.

IC 50

PPARγ: 12.6 μM (EC50)
