STANNOUS ACETATE Usage And Synthesis
Chemical Properties
STANNOUS ACETATE is white to light beige powder
Uses
Reducing agent.
Uses
Tin(II) acetate is used as a precursor in the production of tin anode, Sn-Cu bimetallic nanoparticles, high surface area tin oxide catalysts. It acts as Lewis acid catalysts for the esterification and transesterification reactions. It serves as an efficient catalytic system for carbon-hydrogen activation of methoxy group of anisole in presence of palladium(II) acetate. It plays an important role in stannous oral care compositions.
Uses
STANNOUS ACETATE is used in stannous oral care compositions.
Hazard
Toxic by ingestion.
reaction suitability
core: tin
reagent type: catalyst
Synthesis
A process for the preparation of stannous acetate (propyl hydrocarbon propionate), characterized in that it includes the following specific steps: (1) Weighing stannous oxide, weighing deionized water at a mass ratio of 1-2:1 with stannous oxide, and adding it to a reaction kettle; (2) Turn on the stirring, slowly add the weighed stannous oxide in step (1); (3) Increase the temperature, until the temperature rises to 75-85 ?? C gradually add glacial acetic acid solution, stirring while adding, within 30min to complete the addition; (4) Continue to heat up to 95-100 ?? C, hold 3h; (6)Maintain the temperature 100 ?? insulation, distillation under reduced pressure, to no low-boiling material distillation, the material is white solid to stop distillation; (6) stop, take out the product, crushed in 100 ?? oven drying that is the desired stannous acetate (hydrocarbon propionate) products.
