Definition
ChEBI: 2-cyclohexyl-2-phenylacetic acid 2-(diethylamino)ethyl ester is a member of benzenes.
Manufacturing Process
17.4 parts of diphenylacetic acid 2-(diethylamino)ethyl ester were solved in
200 parts of acetic acid and hydrogenated over platinum catalyst. After the
calculated volume of hydrogen was passed, the catalyst was filtered off and
the solvent was removed to dryness. Ether, water and a potassium carbonate
solution were added to the remaining oil and were thoroughly shaken. The
ether layer was washed with water and dried over potassium carbonate. The
solvent was removed, the remaining oil was distilled in vacuum to give 2-
(diethylamino)ethyl α-phenylcyclohexaneacetate; BP 150°-160°C/0.2 mm Hg.
In practice it is usually used as hydrochloride.
