Uses
Heptyl phenylacetate has been suggested for use in perfume compositions, but its odor type is rather strange, and its effects not sufficiently unusual, beautiful or powerful to warrant any further promotion of this material.
Preparation
By esterification of n-Heptanol with Phenylacetic acid under azeotropic conditions.
