Chemical Properties

Yellow liquid, easily soluble in methanol and water, derived from Cyperus rotundus L., Cyperus oxyphylla, and the rhizome of Cyperus rotundus L., a plant of the Cyperaceae family.

Uses

(+)-α-Cyperone is used as an anti-inflammatory agent, isolated from the rhizomes of Cyperus rotundus.
