Chemical Properties

White odorless crystalline powder, sweet odor, hygroscopic. Soluble in water (235g/100g water, 25℃), glycerol, propylene glycol, slightly soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetic acid, phenol and acetamide solution. Almost insoluble in most other organic solvents.

Uses

D-Sorbitol is a sugar alcohol that is naturally found in Toyon berries. D-Sorbitol is used to increase stability of silver nanoparticles and is also used as a sugar substitute.
