Uses

4-Methyltriphenylamine (cas# 4316-53-4) is a useful reactant and reagent in organic reactions and synthesis.

Synthesis

4-Methyltriphenylamine (MTPA), 4-n-butyltriphenylamine (nBTPA) and 4-t-butyltriphenylamine (tBTPA) were synthesized as shown in figure below, where 'R' is the alkyl group in the side chain such as methyl, n-butyl or t-butyl^[1].
