4-Methoxyphenethylamine an inhibitor of the deamination of tyramine and tryptamine. It is intermediates of ritodrine. ritodrine is an adrenergic β2 receptor agonists used to prevent premature birth.

Application

4-Methoxyphenethylamine was used in the synthesis of :
pyrrolo[3,2-c]carbazole
poly(4-methoxyphenethylamine), required for the immobilization of nitrogenated bases and oligonucleotides
organopolyphosphazenes such as poly[bis(4-methoxy benzylamino)polyphosphazene] and poly[bis(4-methoxyphenethylamino)polyphosphazene]
4-methoxyphenethylamine was reacted with CDI and obtained N-substituted imidazolide intermediate.
