Uses
Gantenerumab is a monoclonal antibody for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease being developed by Hoffmann-La Roche pharmaceuticals.
in vivo
Gantenerumab (20 mg/kg; intravenous injection; once a week; 5 months) has a protective effect in PS2APP transgenic mice and can reduce the number of Aβ amyloid plaques[1].

| Result: | Reduced the number of Aβ amyloid plaques in PS2APP mice compared with vehicle controls. Specifically, in the hippocampus, neocortex, and thalamus, the plaque numbers were significantly reduced by 36%, 40%, and 70% respectively. Efficiently reduced the number of smaller plaques. Did not cause neurological or locomotor deficits. |
