Application

Ethyl isoxazole-5-carboxylate is an isoxazole derivative that has attracted great interest among various bioactive heterocyclic isoxazoles due to its wide application in medicinal chemistry and materials science. It can be used in laboratory research and development and chemical and pharmaceutical synthesis processes.

Synthesis

A solution of THF (5 mL) of alkynyl oxime ether 1 (0.15 mmol) was added to phenol (28 mg, 0.3 mmol) and AgBF4 (5.8 mg, 0.03 mmol), and a drying tube was filled with silica gel at room temperature. After stirring under reflux for 1 h 12 h (TLC monitoring), the reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure. The purified the residue by preparative TLC (hexane/ AcOEt = 3e10:1) to provide isoxazole 3.
