Description
Drostanolone Enanthate is one of the anabolic androgenic steroids (AAS) that pack a punch when it comes to bulking and cutting. It is the longer estered variant of Masteron which was introduced in the 1950s and sold under various trade names including Masteril and Drolban. Masteron Enanthate became widely known in the 2000s as medication and as a performance enhancer. Its demand has been high all through, and even today it is one of the most commonly used steroids due to its strong anti-estrogenic properties.
Drostanolone Enanthate is considered to be an excellent alternative for the cutting cycle. Even though this product is considered quite more complicated to control than for example Drostanolone Propionate, is still among the top ten cutting steroids out there. The main difference between Drostanolone Enanthate and Propionate is the active life in the body. But because of this, the detection time for Enanthate ester is 3 months. Chemical name for Drostanolone Enanthate is 2alpha-methyl-androstan-3-one-17B-ol, 2alpha-methyl-dihydrotestosterone.
History
Masteron (Drostanolone) was brought to market around 1972 by Syntex Pharmaceuticals, the same company that brought Anadrol to market just a few years earlier. The medical objective was to help control breast cancer in females using its mild anti-estrogen properties. As the years went on companies have depended on SERM’s like Nolvadex for this purpose since they have much lower side effects, and Masteron has fallen out of favor in the medical community.
Even though it was around in the golden era, it never got in the hands of many bodybuilders to their dismay. In those days before the internet, people depended on word of mouth and gurus to guide them so information was extremely outdated. Had they known about Masteron in that time period it would have been likely the #1 steroid to use.
Over the years it has grown in popularity and over the past 30 years, it has become a staple to use in a contest prep cycle to give the bodybuilder hard muscles on stage.
Characteristics
Drostanolone Enanthate is a Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) based anabolic steroid. However, the DHT has been altered in terms of the hormone structure. The change is the result of a methyl group added. This prevents the hormone from breaking down metabolically. It also increases the anabolic nature of Drostanolone Enanthate. This is when the ester is attached. Keep in mind, Enanthate isn’t actually a steroid component. It is a tool used to offer the right timing for the product.

Maseril, the trademark of Drostanolone Enanthate is used in breast cancer therapy and is combined with SERM (Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulator). There was a decrease in estrogen levels among women who had gone through the treatment using this hormone. Masteron had become a favorite steroid among athletes and competitive bodybuilders. It is a very popular anabolic steroid. Masteron is a derivative of dihydrotestosterone or DHT, which restrains the conversion to estrogen through aromatization. It could be that its ability to inhibit estrogen from interacting with the aromatase enzyme or it blocks the receptor that binds the estrogen that causes these phenomena. Whatever the reason, because of its anti-estrogenic properties it blocks the conversion of free testosterones to estrogen through the aromatization. This makes Masteron a common inclusion in a high anabolic cycle. Since compounds used in cycles to achieve mass gain and strength have very potent testosterone content, Masteron is used to prevent the estrogenic side effects to take place.
Side effects
Drostanolone enanthate is indeed a mild steroid that is low when it comes to side effects. However, it is important to remember it still is a very strong hormone and should be respected. If you abuse it at high dosages or for an extended amount of time the chances of problems will increase substantially. Here are the main side effects:
1. Suppression: It will cause your pituitary glands to become suppressed just like any other exogenous hormone.
2. DHT: Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) side effects can manifest itself by harming your prostate, straining your lipids, and by frying head hair follicles.
3. Dry joints and nerve pain: Although not as bad as Winstrol, you still can get dry joint problems on Masteron-Drostanolone. Also, the harder muscles can cause nerves to become pinched which can flare up existing injuries like herniated discs.
Dosage forms
Masteron Enanthate is an injectable steroid, and the user typically has to inject it every other day. Always use a sterile needle for each injection. The area of injection can become sore, so it is should be rotated with each injection. Avoid using the same area in the same week when possible. The total dose for the week needs to be divided by the number of injections. Women should use between 50 mg and 100 mg per week. Males should use between 300 mg and 400 mg per week.
