Uses
3,5-Dimethoxybenzylamine was used in the preparation of trisammonium tris(hexafluoro phosphate) salt. It was also used in the synthesis of well defined, homogeneous [n]rotaxanes (n up to 11) by a template-directed thermodynamic clipping approach.

General Description
3,5-Dimethoxybenzylamine was prepared by LiAlH4-reduction of 3,5-dimethoxybenzaldoxime.
Synthesis
7 mmol of 3,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde, 70 mL of methanol solution of ammonia at a concentration of 2 mol/L, and 140 mg of murrayne-encapsulated nickel-nickel oxide catalyst were mixed and added to an autoclave reactor, and then hydrogen was passed in, and the hydrogen pressure of the system was controlled to be 2 MPa, the stirring rate was 800 rpm, and the reaction was carried out at 90 ??C for 4 h. 3,5-dimethoxybenzylamine was obtained (the yield was 95%).
