6,7-DIMETHOXY-3',4',5-TRIHYDROXYFLAVONE Usage And Synthesis
Uses
Cirsiliol is a potent and selective 5-lipoxygenase inhibitor and a competitive low affinity benzodiazepine receptor ligand.
Definition
ChEBI: A dimethoxyflavone that is flavone substituted by methoxy groups at positions 6 and 7 and hydroxy groups at positions 5, 3' and 4' respectively.
Biological Activity
Cirsiliol is a flavonoid th at displays anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, anti-proliferative, and anti-bacterial activities. Cirsiliol sensitizes non-small cell lung cancer cell lines (NSCLC) to radiation therapy. Cirsiliol inhibits epithelial-mesenchymal transition likely by induction of tumor-suppressive miR-34a, which suppresses Notch-1 expression NSCLC.
in vivo
In xenograft mouse model, tumor volume is significantly reduced by combinational treatment with irradiation and rhamnetin or cirsiliol compared with irradiation alone[2].
IC 50
5-Lipoxygenase
