Chemical Properties

Pure products are white needle-like or scaly crystals, and industrial products are gray or light red scaly crystals. It has a pungent odor. Soluble in water, methanol and ethanol. The aqueous solution is alkaline.

Uses

Pentachlorophenol sodium salt hydrate is a non-selective contact herbicide. It is a defoliant and wood preservative before harvesting. It can also be used to kill the intermediate host snails of schistosomiasis and prevent and control schistosomiasis.

Application
