VERATRINE Chemical Properties,Usage,Production
Uses
The main insecticidal mechanism of this pesticide is that it enters the insect's digestive system through the skin or by ingestion, causing local irritation and reflexive excitation. It first inhibits the insect's sensory nerve endings, then suppresses the central nervous system, leading to the insect's death. Veratrine acts similarly to nicotine, exhibiting contact and stomach poison effects. It can control aphids, whiteflies, psyllids, rice planthoppers, leaf miners, rice leaf rollers, diamondback moths, etc., and is a fast-acting insecticide. The main chemical components of veratrine are servadin and veratrine.
Chemical Properties
White needle-like crystals, soluble in methanol, ethanol, DMSO and other organic solvents, derived from Veratrum nigrum L;
Definition
Mixture of Cevadine, veratridine, cevadilline and sabadine.
Synthesis
Veratrine exist in the Liliaceae Veratrum and Hellebores. The plant raw materials used as pesticides are mainly the Seeds of Hellebore and the rhizomes of Resveratrol.
