Uses
UDP-glucose dehydrogenase is a biochemical reagent that can be used as a biological material or organic compound for life science related research.
Biological Activity
UDP-glucose 6-dehydrogenase (UGDH) transfers UDP-glucose to UDP-glucuronate and thus takes part in the biosynthesis of glycosaminoglycans such as hyaluronan, chondroitin sulfate, and heparan sulfate. UGDH is implicated in various cellular processes such as, detoxification, polysaccharide biosynthesis and embryonic development.
