Danshensu Usage And Synthesis

Chemical Properties

White crystals, soluble in organic solvents such as methanol, ethanol, and DMSO, derived from Salvia miltiorrhiza.

Uses

Danshensu increases production of collagenin Detroit 551 cells and attenuates the α-MSH-stimulated melanin production of B16 cells. Danshensu may be used as active ingredients in would healing, cosmetic treatments or treating hyperpigmentation.

Definition

ChEBI: (2R)-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)lactic acid is a (2R)-2-hydroxy monocarboxylic acid that is (R)-lactic acid substituted at position 3 by a 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl group. It is a (2R)-2-hydroxy monocarboxylic acid and a 3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)lactic acid. It is a conjugate acid of a (2R)-3-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)lactate.

in vivo

Danshensu (Dan shen suan A; 25, 50, 100?mg/kg; oral administration daily for 7 continuous days or i.v. once) before SARS-CoV-2 S infection dose-dependently alleviates the pathological alterations in mice infected with SARS-CoV-2 S[1].

Animal Model:Adult BALB/c mice (male, 6-8 weeks, 20±2?g)[1]
Dosage:25, 50, 100?mg/kg
Administration:Oral administration (daily for 7 continuous days) or i.v. (once)
Result:Could prevent SARS-CoV-2 S protein-induced acute lung inflammation.
Ameliorated inflammatory cytokines in serum and lung tissue.
