Kerosine (petroleum), hydrodesulfurized Usage And Synthesis

Definition

Kerosine (petroleum), hydrodesulfurized is a complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained from a petroleum stock by treating with hydrogen to convert organic sulfur to hydrogen sulfide which is removed. It consists of hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C9 through C16 and boiling in the range of approximately 150.degree.C to 290.degree.C (302.degree.F to 554.degree.F).

The acute initial threshold screening level (ITSL) for kerosene-like petroleum distillates is 2000 μg/m3, with 8-hour averaging time. The chronic ITSL for kerosene-type petroleum distillates is 200 μg/m3, with annual time.
The initial threshold screening level (ITSL) for hydrodesulfurized kerosene is 4 μg/m3 (based on annual averaging time).
